Mar 9State Senator Deanna Demuzio Named “Tax Villain of the Month”
SPRINGFIELD – Jim Tobin, President of National Taxpayers United of Illinois (NTUI), named State Senator Deanna Demuzio the “Tax Villain of the Month” at a press conference yesterday in Springfield, the Senators’ district. Tobin distributed “wanted flyers” for the tax villain that summarized how Demuzio earned the designation.
View coverage of the press conference by NBC TV 17 Springfield
Among other “crimes against taxpayers,” Demuzio voted to increase state personal income taxes 67% and raise the state corporate income tax 33%, from 7.3 to 9.7%. She also voted herself a pay raise.
Analysis of Illinois revenues for the first eight months of fiscal year 2010 shows an increase of $7.5 billion from the same period in FY2009. Comparing the same eight months against a healthier FY2008, revenues are still up $5.3 billion, or 13%.
Tobin asked, “Whose income has gone up 13% over the past 2 years and demands more money? Only Tax Villains like Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and State Senator Deanna Demuzio, along with tax-raising allies like the Civic Federation.”
“All the talk about raising taxes is being sold under the guise of digging Illinois out of a ‘budget crisis.’ But what they won’t tell you is that total Illinois state revenue has risen every year since we first started tracking it in 2003.”
“Quinn’s alleged “budget crisis” is caused by outrageous government spending, only the worst of which is the lavish, gold-plated benefits paid to retired government employees, including downstate and suburban public school teachers and administrators.”

Demand the Freedom of Information Act
As the election approaches, the "Vote of no Confidence" that Brad Demuzio received from his fellow officers has yet to be revealed to the general public. In the heat of battle as current Senator Demuzio stoops to an ALL time low of political mudslinging, her son hides behind his mothers skirt tails hoping to keep his job and hoping that she wins the election to protect it. Its time this gravy train the Demuzios feel entitled too ends!!!!

THE MORNING AFTER PILL, how did she vote????
Back in 2005, Blago ordered that the "Plan B" or morning after pill, would be over the counter for anyone to purchase here in the state of Illinois. Also it is "free" to a medicaid patient. Call Senator Demuzio TODAY and ask her how she voted as someone who claims to be "prolife" AND Catholic. Her contact information is:

The Bodyguard
Apparently Ms Demuzio has pissed off enough people by her dirty style politics and idle promises that she has hired herself a bodyguard. I wonder how that works, are we the tax payers forced to pay for such wastefulness. Maybe she should not have been so careless with her political cut throat politics? Well, she's no Whitney Houston, but they do have one thing in common.....both are crazy!
Is this the type of leadership we want representing us in Springfield?

DEMAND A DEBATE!!!!
We should demand a debate!!! What she afraid of, someone asking her about her voting record?? Look at the other posts and see how she consistently voted with the upstate Democrats for every bill and didn't keep her "precious" 49th even in mind. We are HER district, WE the taxpayers PAY for her bills and her lifestyle as well as her families, WE DESERVE A SAY!!! Deanna if you expect your loyal supporters to keep voting for you give us a reason to.
WE WANT A DEBATE ABOUT THE REAL ISSUES IN THE 49TH!!!!

Demuzio does not believe in parental choice of schooling.
Downstate Democrats Deanna DeMuzio, Gary Forby, Bill Haine, David Koehler, John Sullivan and Linda Holmes voted with Chicago area Democratic senators Crotty, Frerichs, Kotowski, Link, Raoul, Steans, Trotter and Wilhelmi in support of teachers' unions and against parental choice in education. Two Republicans also voted "No" -- west suburban John Millner and John Jones.
SB 2494 now moves to the Illinois House side, where State Representative Will Davis is expected to have a tough time getting the bill out of the Rules Committee. Davis shares legislative districts with Senator Meeks, but not the political clout to move the legislation towards passage. It will all depend upon parents and students wanting school choice to open up in Chicago and Davis' ability to form new coalitions in the House as to whether Meeks' effort will move forward.
DeMuzio may have voted against letting the general public make choices about their own child's educational choices due to playing favorites with the teachers unions, however her own grandchildren do not go to the public school that bears her families name, instead they are driven 1 hour away everyday and go to a private school in Springfield.

SPRINGFIELD, ILL. -- Deanna Demuzio, who was sworn in Tuesday as a state senator to replace her late husband, Senate Majority Leader Vince Demuzio, said she planned to take up where he left off.
Deanna Demuzio, D-Carlinville, said she would adopt many of her husband's causes, such as education and health care. She said she would begin reviewing two plans for reforming the state's education system, one from Gov. Rod Blagojevich and another from House Speaker Michael Madigan. She also said she would advocate for health care.
One of the things I feel strongly about is health care issues. DO WE THINK VINCE WOULD HAVE HONESTLY VOTED FOR OBAMACARE??? I THINK NOT!!!!

Contempt for voters
Published May 2, 2008

The Senate, largely because of Democratic opposition, denied Illinois citizens the right to decide whether to add a recall amendment to their constitution. The tally was 33 senators willing to give citizens that choice, three short of the 36 votes needed. Jones and 18 other Democrats voted no; two more Democrats voted present.Jones acolyte Rickey Hendon opened the vote, then instantly gaveled it to a close. Five senators didn't vote at all. The ploy couldn't have been more obvious: End this vote before it has time to pass.
Hendon then engineered a rapid adjournment, arrogantly denying a vote on a second version of the recall amendment, which the Illinois House had passed and sent to the Senate.
So the matter is dead. No recall amendment can clear the legislature by Sunday's deadline to put proposed amendments on the November ballot.
This stiff-arm by Jones & Co. to Illinois citizens not only protects his pal Gov. Rod Blagojevich from a post-November recall effort, but also insulates Cook County Board President Todd Stroger.
Even the Senate debate was rushed. But some of it was telling. Sen. John Cullerton voted to deny citizens the right to recall the people they put in office. Cullerton was aghast at the notion of "turning over to an outside entity" the question of whether to recall inept judges.
Yes, you, Illinois voters, are that much-feared "outside entity."
So be it. All of us in the outside entity now need to ask every Democratic senator we encounter why he or she didn't do more to advance the recall amendment. If you make to-do lists, here are the 21 Democrats whose votes of no or present (the effect is the same) denied you a voice on that amendment:
Emil Jones, Jr., President
Michael Bond
James F. Clayborne, Jr.
Jacqueline Y. Collins

Who can we blame for Blago???
Chicago Tribune outs Senators against recall
January 5, 2009 by Jayme Siemer
ShareThe Chicago Tribune came out with their own little attempt at transparency today when they published the names of the Illinois state senators that voted against giving Illinois voters the option of recalling their elected officials. Much to my delight, it came with a complimentary “happy new year” verbal thrashing as well.
So as the impeachment process escalates, remember: We’re in this disheartening situation because of choices Blagojevich has made. We’re here, too, because so many members of the Illinois Senate have enabled him. They had the chance to let us vote him out of office. They sided with him, and against the people of the state.
NICE!!!
And, here is the list of offending, liberty-snatching senators:
*Michael Bond
*James Clayborne Jr.
*Jacqueline Collins
*John Cullerton
*James DeLeo
*Deanna Demuzio
*William Haine
*Don Harmon
Mike Jacobs
*Emil Jones Jr.
*Kimberly Lightford
*Terry Link
*Iris Martinez
*James Meeks
*Antonio Munoz
*Michael Noland
*Kwame Raoul
*Heather Steans
*John Sullivan
*Donne Trotter
*A.J. Wilhelmi
*Gary Forby (D) [did not vote]
*Mattie Hunter (D) [did not vote]
*Martin Sandoval (D) [did not vote]
*Louis Viverito (D) [did not vote]
*Chris Lauzen (R) [not present]
I hope the Trib remembers to publish those names again prior to the election, and when their ed board meets to make endorsements for 2010 and 2010. Based on this paragraph…
As we said at the time: Senate Democrats blocked recall. They didn’t just show distrust for voters. They showed contempt. Eight months later, here we are, having to rely on the legislature to impeach and convict a governor the people cannot recall. Don’t forget who brought us here.

Rate your own state legislators, both House and Senate.
Jim Watson is a wonderful state rep who has remained visible in the district and stands as one of our most astute members on big issues. Deanna Demuzio on the other hand is a total joke. She is nothing like her late husband and is merely the pawn of leadership. It is a shame that local Dems did not fill that seat with a young up and comer with the same fire that Vince Demuzio had. Although I had high hopes for Mrs. Demuzio, she has consistently disappointed in her service. Once again my party has let me down!!!

Another person to consider - and no laughing! - is Brad Demuzio. Vince and Deanna’s kid is the head of the Secretary of State police and is close friends with a lot of people in Central Illinois. He has some elected experience and having the name Demuzio helps tremendously.
Jerry Lack is also a good candidate. Since he’s Lane’s projects and grants man, he knows all the mayors, county board chairs and businessmen in the district. He’s a super guy and very polite. However, as with any candidate, can you just throw him into the fire?

VOTE HER OUT!!!
I live in Calhoun and just before the Hardin parade day, one of Demuzio's thugs, stapled one of her "campaign" signs to the "Welcome to Hardin" sign as you come into town. Sending a message " I own these people" . If we were to do anything like that or any other politician, it would be considered, "DEFACING PUBLIC PROPERTY"!!!!! So why can she get by with this??? Because we have let her and her family get by with raping us for too long!! Many of us are having to tighten our belts, drive 2 hours across the river to keep a job or just lose our homes, while she voted to give herself a raise and all of her immediate family has a state job with benefits. Are they so far removed from reality they cannot see what is really happening???? She will do or say anything to keep her job, after all her families jobs are probably depending on it too. WHEN IN DOUBT VOT'EM ALL OUT!!!!!!

49th State Senator Deanna Demuzio Named “Tax Villain of the Month”
Quinn’s alleged “budget crisis” is caused by outrageous government spending, only the worst of which is the lavish, gold-plated benefits paid to retired government employees, including downstate and suburban public school teachers and administrators.”

Quinn’s alleged “budget crisis” is caused by outrageous government spending, only the worst of which is the lavish, gold-plated benefits paid to retired government employees, including downstate and suburban public school teachers and administrators.”

Overview
The following tables show how legislators voted on two income tax hike bills, House Bill 174 and Senate Bill
2252. On May 30, 2009, the Illinois Senate passed a bill to raise the income tax for individuals, trusts, and
estates from 3% to 5%. That's a 67% income tax increase! The bill would also raise the corporate income
tax rate from 7.3% to 9.7%, which will prevent the creation of at least 70,000 jobs. What legislators won't
say is that these tax increases will fund the lavish, gold-plated pensions of government employees.
See the Senate roll call below and the House vote for a 50% income tax increase on the reverse side.
How you can help
Contact your state representative and state senator and tell them to OPPOSE raising the state income tax
and instead INCREASE the amount government employees contribute to their pensions. If you don't know
who your legislators are, you can find out by calling the Illinois General Assembly at (217) 782-4141 or
(312) 814-6440. You can also visit ILGA.gov and use the Legislator Lookup tool to search by district,
address, name, or zipcode.
Feel free to copy and distribute this flyer to your friends and family. It can also be posted to your favorite
online groups. Electronic copies of these votes as well as the top 100 Illinois government pensions are

Demuzio ads too little, too late
from Judy Holmes of Jerseyville
I'm writing in response to a radio ad Senator Deanna Demuzio is airing. The ad states she is returning a month's salary to the state. Sorry Deanna - the return of one month's salary to the State of Illinois is way too little, too late!
Senator Demuzio voted with Rob Blagojevich the entire time he was in office and even voted to give Gov. Blagojevich a pay raise knowing he was under federal investigation. Senator Demuzio voted to expand legislator health care benefits by eleven million dollars per year. Senator Demuzio voted for the largest Tax Increase in the history of Illinois - a 67% tax hike on Illinois families and employers - thank goodness, this did NOT pass. Why would we continue to send someone to Springfield, who votes to give herself a pay raise one year and then the next year votes for the largest tax increase ever to pay for it?
Illinois is not a family enterprise for self dealing - we must stop the Chicago style politics for the few and get back to representing the people of the great State of Illinois.
Senator Demuzio's fingerprints are all over the fall of the State of Illinois - it's time to end the Demuzio reign. Deanna, keep your one month's salary -- we do not want it!
