SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
5 ILCS 375/10 from Ch. 127, par. 530
Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971. Prohibits charging retirees under the State employee and university retirement systems, or their survivors, premiums for dental and vision benefits under the group health benefits program. Effective July 1, 2010.
No state employee or survivor who participates in the basic program of group health benefits shall be charged for, or be responsible for the payment of, any portion of any premium for any dental or vision benefits component of the basic program of group health benefits. The State shall pay the cost of the basic program of group health.
